Wisburg Secondary routs Silvercity Secondary

Wisburg Secondary compliments of an impressive 44 points from Aubrey Campbell routed New Silvercity Secondary 80-30 as action in the Linden Secondary Schools U-19 Basketball championships continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court on Tuesday.

Akeem Powers and Taquille Saunders supported with 19 and 17 points respectively.
Wisburg lead 42-12 at halftime.

Andie Carr was New Silvercity’s top scorer with 12 points while Wayne Wilson added seven.
In the other game of the day Linden Foundation Secondary defeated four times tournament winners Mackenzie High School 24-14. Trailing Linden Foundation Secondary by a 16-6 margin at halftime, Mackenzie High clawed their way back into contention, pulling within two points of their opponents after scoring eight unanswered points to begin the second half.

The momentum would eventually shift as Mackenzie High would ultimately lose their way as they conceded eight unanswered points to be defeated by 10 point margin in the end.

The tournament which is organized this year by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) will continue this afternoon at the aforesaid venue with Mackenzie High will oppose Wisburg Secondary in the first game at 2.30pm and the second at 4.00pm is between Linden Foundation Secondary and Linden Technical Institute.

On Friday the tournament will continue at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court when Christianburg/Wismar Secondary engages Wisburg Secondary. That match will be followed by the New Silvercity Secondary versus Mackenzie High encounter at 4:00pm.
