League leaders Alpha United held to 1-1 draw

Pele Football Club through goals on either side of half time on Sunday defeated Den Amstel Panthers 3-0 when the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Super League continued at the Den Amstel Ground.

Stellon David opened the scoring for the Georgetown side in the seventh minute and Pele doubled their advantage through a Jamal Cozier effort in the 73rd minute while captain Shemroy Arthur added his name to the scorer’s sheet two minutes before regulation time.

At the Blairmont Community Centre ground, Rosignol United were held to a one all draw by Buxton United. Delroy Fraser opened the scoring for the hosts in the 64th minute whilst Clive Andries equalized for the East Coast side in the 79th minute.

At the Beterverwagting ground, East Coast of Demerara, league leaders Alpha ‘the Hammer’ United played to a one all draw with hosts Beterverwagting United/ Triumph United (BV/TU). The home side took the lead through a Malcolm Wilson 56th minute strike. Alpha equalized 10 minutes later when Dwight Peters netted.

In the scheduled double header at the Wisburg ground, Linden, Western Tigers and Amelia’s Ward United played to a 1-1 draw while Milerock defeated Uitvlugt three goals to one.
