Scotiabank/Pepsi schools football set to resume this weekend

Mackenzie High School and New Silver City Secondary School played to a 0-0 draw last Saturday at the Wisburg Secondary School Ground as the Scotiabank/Pepsi schools football tournament continued in Linden.

In other results, Wisburg Secondary gained a walkover from Harmony Secondary School in a female match while in Georgetown, Tutorial High School defeated Central High 3-1.

Mario Padmore scored two goals in the 55th and 60th minutes from the penalty spot while Steve Stunton scored the second goal three minutes after Padmore’s opening goal.

Central High’s goal came via a penalty kick by Emmanuel Williams in the sixty-fifth minute of play.

Play continues this weekend with North Georgetown Secondary and Tutorial High playing in a female encounter on Saturday followed by New Campbellville Secondary and Lodge Secondary female teams.

New Campbellville comfortably leads the points table with six points.

In the male division, Queen’s College takes on Central High School at 12:30hrs while Group ‘B’ powerhouse, Christ Church will collide with Tucville Secondary.

A triple header is billed for Sunday at the same venue with two male games and one female encounter from 10:30hrs. North Georgetown Secondary and New Campbellville Secondary (male) will open proceedings with Christ Church and Charlestown Secondary playing in a female game from 11:45hrs. St. George’s High and Bishops’ High Schools will play the final game at 13:00hrs.
