Guyana’s rifle shooters suffer mixed forunes on opening day

Guyana’s rifle shooters endured mixed fortunes on the opening day of individual competition at the West Indies Fullbore shooting championships at the Paragon ranges in Christ Church, Barbados yesterday.

Following early morning showers and sometimes tricky winds, the Guyanese shooters found the conditions tough at the 300 and 500 yards ranges. Up to press time scores were not available.

Reigning Caribbean Individual champion Lennox Braithwaite shot two possibles but he said he believes that while his score might be decent among regional shooters it may not stand the test against the other international competitors on show.
