Renaissance FC hammer Fruta Conquerors 5-1

Renaissance Football Club through braces by Teon Vankenic and Calvin Peters hammered Fruta Conquerors ‘A’ 5-1 as the Fruta Conquerors sponsored U-13 league competition continued at the Tucville Community Centre Ground yesterday.

Vankenic would open the scoring for the East Ruimveldt side in the 18th minute. Upon intercepting the ball in the midfield area, Vankenic would evade two defenders before unleashing a powerful strike to the top right hand corner.

Renaissance would double their advantage in the 22nd minute with Peters converting from the penalty spot following an infringement in the Conquerors ‘A’ 18 yard area.

Vankenic would complete his double with a strike in the 29th minute following a cross from the right flank from Kellon Leigh.  Not to be outdone, Peters would grab his second of the match with a cheeky finish over the on rushing Conquerors ‘A’ goalkeeper.

The rout was completed when lanky centre half Ryan Ramsey etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 52nd minute after Toney Nelson had scored a consolation goal for Conquerors ‘A’ in the 35th minute.

A Joshua Denny double in the 12th and 48th minutes powered Camptown FC to a 2-1 victory over the Georgetown Football Club (GFC). Shamar Greaves was on target for the Bourda side in the 54th minute.
