As part of its initiative to continue to develop the fistic sport locally, the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) and Cuban Coach, Francisco Hernandez Roldan will conduct monthly two-day coaching seminars beginning this weekend at the Andrew ‘SixHead’ Lewis Gym.
“In order to maximize the services of the Cuban coach and to help in the development of our coaching and by extension our boxers we will start coaching seminars for coaches this weekend” president of the GBA, Steve Ninvalle told Stabroek Sport on Wednesday.
Ninvalle added that “Roldan will touch on boxing both practical and theoretical, this is just a part of our initiative that would enable us to move forward, we still have a far way to go but of course we are trying”.
Tomorrow’s seminars will commence at 10:00hrs and conclude at 14:00hrs while the seminars on Sundays will begin at midday and end four hours later.
