In excess of 35 athletes in total from Georgetown, East Bank, East Coast, and Berbice will invade the stage for tonight’s battle.

The male bodybuilders will vie for supremacy in the Under 132 pounds, under 143, under 154, under 164, over 176 and the Master’s category (over 40 years) while the females will compete in the Ms. Physique and Ms. Body Fitness categories.

Organising Secretary of the GABBFF, Videsh Sookram told this publication yesterday that “the athletes for this year’s Show pack more muscle than years before and most of their routines are very entertaining.

“A packed night of stiff competition and entertainment is anticipated, this event will be better than ever” Sookram added.

This year’s edition is loaded with enough fireworks to blast the CASH straight into orbit.

Some notable bodybuilders vying for the Mr. Guyana crown tonight will be defending champion and last year’s CAC gold medallist, Devon Davis, 2011 National Novices and last year’s Hugh Ross Classic winner and CAC bronze medallist, Kerwin ‘Chisel’ Clarke, CAC silver medallist, Marlon Bennett, 2010 National Novices Champion, Godfrey Stoby and this year’s National Novices Champion, Dwayne Mars.

The lineup is huge, the competition fierce, and the title is monumental.

The fans have their favourites and will make their voices heard tonight. Another reason why ‘Bodies of Steel’ will be like no other is because the guest poser will be an IFBB professional. Andrew Jemmott, the 6- foot 1 inch, 265 pound mass of striated muscle will be on stage flexing and posing his massive, sculpted frame.

Jemmott boasted that his routine will embody the most entertaining poses the Guyanese public will ever see.

The top finishers will benefit from supplement hampers, compliments of Fitness Express.

Contributions were also made by the Trophy Stall, Giftland Office Max, Courts, Subs and Salads, GTM, Hand in Hand, G3 Gym and WindJammer International Hotel.

The event will commence at 19:00hrs. Admission is $1000.
