Little DIVA Flames football club to kick off training Saturday

Newly formed Little DIVA Flames Female Football Club is set to kick off training for club members on Saturday at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground from 09:00hrs.

Coaches Joseph Wilson and Sheron Abrams will be tasked with taking the females through their paces.

Wilson coached the Scotiabank Female All Stars Team to victory in a specially arranged tournament involving Berbice and West Demerara last December while Abrams recently returned to Guyana after successfully participating in a “D” Licence Coaching in Aruba conducted by CONCACAF.

The Little DIVA Flames FC was formed to harness and develop the football skills of talented young females desirous of playing ‘the beautiful game’ at the club level so that they can aspire to represent Guyana internationally.

Opportunities will also be available for those with the academic qualification and football skills to be offered scholarships in the Caribbean, Central America, North America and even Europe.

The club will ensure that the ball weavers experience the best training in a disciplined and safe environment. Life Skills will also be addressed amongst other things as the club grows in stature, the club stated in press release.
