Bushy Park Sawmills onside with K&S

The Kashif and Shanghai (K&S) Organization received a shot in the arm for its 24th annual year-end football tournament yesterday when the Bushy Park Sawmills became a major sponsor.

According to co-founder of the K&S Organization, Kashif Muhammad, the company agreed to outfit the four West Demerara secondary school teams (Leonora, Stewartville, Patentia and Uitvlugt) with kits and footballs.

Muhammad also intimated that owner of the sawmill, Radesh Rameshwar, pledged to assist with the airfare and accommodation of the Region Seven team, Waramadong which will amount to $3M.

The K&S co-founder also revealed that the total budget of the school’s  tournament is in the neighbourhood of $27M and as such his organization is working assiduously to acquire sponsorship as well as boost crowd appeal.

This year’s tournament which will involve 24 of the nation’s top secondary schools vying for $1.2M instead of the traditional senior ball clubs is scheduled to kick off on December 8 at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground and conclude on New Year’s Day at the Providence National Stadium.

Other sponsors of the tournament include DDL, ANSA McAL and the Beharry Group of Companies.
