Guyana Softball Cup III tourney concludes

The third annual Guyana Softball Cup competition is set to conclude today following the semi-final matches yesterday.

In the Open category Trophy Stall and Wolf Warriors are through to the semi-finals while New York better Hope and Industry Super Kings are also through to the semi-finals.

In the Open competition Trophy Stall beat Corriveton by 37-runs:

Trophy Stall 197 for 9 from 20 overs, Fazal Rafiek 58, S. Deosaran 29. A Barnett 2 for 29. Corriveton 162 all out. K Ross 50. S. Ramnauth, F. Rafiel and M. Dutchin claimed two wickets each.

Wolf Warriors beat Regal XI by 5 wickets: Regal XI 187 for 8. R Latiff 41. N Bailey 2 for 21. Wolf Warriors 192 for 5. S Karim 48 and Amir Rai 40. Latiff 1 for 29 and M Bobb 1 for 40.

In the Masters competition New York Better Hope beat Wellman XI by 10-wickets: Better Hope 164 for 3 from 12 overs. J. Arjune 96 and A. Sugrin 36. N. Samlall 1 for 32 and K Drepaul 1 for 34. Wellman XI 154 for 7 from 12 overs M. Chunmandath 56. R Evelyn 3 for 28.

Industry Super Kings beat Ontario Softball League by 8-wickets:

Ontario 101 all out in 14.5 overs. B. Harihar 31. G. Prashad 2 for 22. R Basdeo 2 for 27 and J Persaud 2 for 15.

Industry Super Kings 102 for 2 12 overs. D .Harper 26 not out and Persaud 24. Bowling P. Persaud grabbed 1 for 23.

Today’s final fixtures are set to bowl off at 10:00hrs and admission is $500
