Demerara trials now start today

Trials for the Demerara squad ahead of the upcoming Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) senior Inter-County four-day competitions which was scheduled to start yesterday will now get underway today instead.

The two-day trial match which will be held at the Everest Cricket Club ground, will end tomorrow.

The match was initially scheduled to be played on Tuesday and today at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground but rainfall over the past two days left the GCC and other grounds in Georgetown water-logged.

The match will entail four innings and action gets underway at 9:00 hours each day weather permitting. The Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) is asking the players selected for the trial to be prepared and on time at the venue.

The two teams will be led by Leon Johnson and Christopher Barnwell. Johnson’s team, Leon Johnson (Captain), Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Shemroy Barrington, Balwinda Shivpersaud, Zaheer Mohamed,

Vishal Singh, Amir Khan, Joseph Perry, Randy Knights, Shaquille Williams,

Andre Stoll, Paul Wintz, Totaram Bishun, Raj Nanan and Trevon Griffith.

 

Barnwell’s team: Christopher Barnwell (Captain), Rajendra Chandrika, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Yatesh Dhanpaul, Steven Jacobs, Arvin Seepersaud,  Kemol Savoury, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Pattadin, Carl Rambarose,  Trevor Benn, Kelon Carmichael, Anthony Atwell, Robin Bacchus and Jetendra Sookdeo.
