Terrence O Holder

Veteran Guyanese broadcaster and media administrator, Terrence O. Holder died on Wednesday Janauay 8, 2014 following a prolonged illness at the age of seventy- three.

A former Secretary General of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) he began his broadcasting career at the then state-owned Guyana Broadcasting Service (GBS). Recognized and respected as much for his personal broadcasting standards as for his informative Current Affairs productions he progressed steadily in the discipline of public communication, eventually rising to the rank of General Manager of the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation.

Holder’s talents also secured region-wide recognition. He served as Secretary General of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) and subsequently, and up to shortly before his death as Deputy General Manager with responsibility for Public Communications with the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company.

A keen cricket enthusiast, Holder also served the Guyana Cricket Board.
