Disaster management conference

The U.S. Embassy’s Security Cooperation Office, together with representatives from the Florida National Guard, sponsored an Emergency Operation Disaster Management Conference June 3-5 at the Grand Coastal Hotel, a release from the embassy said today.

The conference hosted 35 senior level members from the Florida National Guard, the Guyana Defence Force, the Guyana Police Force, the Civil Defence Commission, the Guyana Fire Services, and the Guyana Prison System.  The Emergency Operation Disaster Management Conference followed a Florida National Guard state partnership visit by GDF soldiers that visited the Florida Emergency Operation Center during a state wide emergency operational hurricane exercise in May.
