Suspect in Trinidad triple murder held

(Trinidad Express) The Police Service on Sunday announced the captured of Azmon Alexander, a person of interest in the murders of a man, woman and baby. The following is the statement from the Police Service –

The country’s most wanted suspect in the abductions and murders of three members of the Brasso Seco community has been captured by Police at Lennox Yearwood Boulevard, Malabar, at 10:30am, today, Sunday 23rd November, 2014. Officers from the Northern Division Task Force and the Crime Patrol Unit acting on information received conducted surveillance in the area when they observed the suspect, Azmon Alexander, traveling in a green Mazda motor vehicle in a southerly direction.

20141124facesThe suspect was the lone occupant of the vehicle other than the driver and is now detained at the Arima Police Station.Mr. Alexander, who was armed with a cutlass, gave himself up to Police Officers without offering any form of resistance.

Azmon Alexander, was deemed a ‘person of interest’ from the onset of the Police investigations into the disappearance of Irma Rampersad, 49, her daughters — Felicia, 17, and Jennelle 19 — and her grand-daughter 14-month-old, Shania Amoroso, who were abducted from their Bleu Road, Brasso Seco home. They were reported missing to the Arima Police Station on October 28th , 2014 but were last seen at their home on October 26th , 2014.

A family friend, Felix Martinez,52, went missing shortly thereafter.

Mr.Martinez, the infant and Ms Rampersad were later discovered dead.

However, sisters Felicia and Jennelle were rescued on November 14th ,2014 by Police Officers .

Acting Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams, has commended the officers involved in the capture of Mr. Alexander and those involved in the overall search exercise.
