Chief Librarian Gillian Thompson who died in an accident on Christmas Eve will be laid to rest on Friday.
A press release from the National Library yesterday said that there will be a viewing of the body at the Merriman’s Funeral Home from 12.30 pm to 1 pm.
The body will then be taken to the Trinity Methodist church on Leopold and High streets for tributes at 1.30 pm followed by the funeral service at 2.30 pm.
Today, there will be a general wake on the lawns of the National Library. Tomorrow, there will be a candlelight vigil between 6 pm and 7 pm at the intersection of Shiv Chanderpaul Drive and North Road where the fatal accident occurred.
Books of condolence will be opened tomorrow between 9 am and 5 pm at the Central Library and its branches at Ruimveldt, Linden, New Amsterdam, Corriverton and Bagot-ville.
