Security guard shot in Sophia after attacker seizes gun from other guard

At about 2100h. last night, the police say that security guards Mortimer Maynard, 45 years, and Trevor Fraser, 42 years, who are attached to a private security service, were in the North Sophia area. Fraser was armed with a .38 revolver belonging to the security company.

The two security guards were attacked by three men who took away the firearm from Fraser and discharged three rounds, one of which struck Maynard to his left thigh. The perpetrators then escaped with the firearm.

Maynard has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment. Investigations are in progress.
