Police have gotten no statement from teen shot on Main St

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud yesterday said that the suspect who allegedly shot Nigel’s Supermarket owner’s son, Joseph Johnson in January has been released on station bail since the police have been unable to get a statement from the victim.

Contacted, Persaud said that the victim has gone overseas and as such the police have been unable to get a statement from him.

Johnson, 17, was shot to his face while standing outside of the Palm Court Night Club on Main Street on January 18 last.

Police in a release had said that at about 0430hrs, a patron at a night spot on Main Street, Georgetown observed a man attempting to break into his motor vehicle and discharged a round from his firearm at the man. According to the police, the man missed and the bullet struck Johnson to his face.
