Man feared dead after boats collide in Pomeroon

The police at Charity, Essequibo Coast are conducting a search for a man who went down in the vicinity of Aberdeen, Lower Pomeroon River after a collision between two boats on Monday night.

The boat accident occurred around 21:00hrs. It involved two balahoos propelled by 40 HP outboard engines.  Anthony Doodnauth, the pilot of the boat that capsized, was proceeding on the western side of the Pomeroon River and heading south. He was in the company of the missing man who was only identified as ‘Blacka’ from Barama’s Quarter, Land of Canaan.

The other boat was heading in the opposite direction when the collision occurred and the
