Autopsy finds Foulis teen had drugs in his system

The truck driver who was wanted for questioning in relation to the death of 14-year-old Andy Moti remained in police custody up to late yesterday afternoon, while an autopsy revealed that the teen had drugs and alcohol in his system.

This newspaper understands that the man, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself over to the police at the Cove and John Police Station on Thursday.

The teen’s aunt told this newspaper yesterday that a post-mortem examination revealed that at the time of his death, Moti had drugs and alcohol in his system.

The lifeless body of the teen was discovered with a crushed skull on 20th Street, Foulis, East Coast Demerara.

Crime Chief Seelall Persaud had told Stabroek News that the child might have been the victim of a traffic accident. He had said that investigators had gathered that he had moved out of the house and slept under a truck.  Persaud had also told this newspaper that there were tyre marks on the child’s body.
