Man shot, robbed at Providence while awaiting transport

At about 1300h today, the police say that Shane James, 33 years, of Bagotville, WBD, was on the roadway at Providence, EBD, awaiting transportation when two men on a motor cycle, one of whom was armed with a firearm, confronted him.

The police said that the armed man shot James to his abdomen and took away a bag with $537, 000 and they escaped. James has been admitted to hospital.

Investigations are in progress.
