Kaneville woman granted bail over assault, wounding charges

A Kaneville woman, accused of wounding and assaulting another woman, was granted $100,000 bail yesterday after denying the allegations before the Providence Magistrate’s Court.

Oneka Mc Lennan was accused of unlawfully wounding Samantha Chin at the Grove Squatting Area and unlawfully assaulting Chin at Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, both on March 18. The woman pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to her by Magistrate Leron Daly.

Prosecutor Shellon Daniels raised no objections to bail but requested that Mc Lennan be placed on a bond until the completion of the matter.

Hence, Mc Lennan was placed on $100,000 bail and will return on July 17 for statements.
