Berbice Bridge company donates water pumps to Brickdam police station

The Berbice Bridge Company Inc (BBCI) has partnered with the Guyana Police Force to upgrade the water distribution system at its Brickdam complex.

Two pressure water pumps will be installed at the Brickdam station to supply water to the male and female barrack rooms and other areas, BBCI said in a press release. According to the statement, in February 2013 George Vyphuis, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commander of ‘A’ Division,  requested assistance  in the form of two pressure pumps and the company was pleased to respond. The pumps and accessories were presented to Vyphuis in the presence of then Commissioner of Police Leroy Brumell on Wednesday.

Over the 2013-2014 period, BBCI has donated 25 sacks of cement to the Fort Wellington Police Station to build a canteen and training facility; 25 yards of fabric to the station; issued monthly passes to the Community Policing Group and donated cleaning materials to the Blairmont Police Station.

BBCI said supporting the police is part of its corporate and social responsibility and it will continue to provide assistance subject to the availability of funds.
