Brazil man dies at Arakaka after beaten during robbery

At about 2030h last night, police say that Brazilian national, Joao De Souza, 57 years, was attacked by a man armed with a piece of wood, during a robbery at 5 Miles, Arakaka, NWD.

He was struck about his body by the perpetrator who escaped.

Joao De Souza was subsequently taken to the Arakaka Health Centre and referred to the GPHC. He died while awaiting transportation at Matthews Ridge Airstrip at about 1140h today.

Investigations are in progress.
