Fort Wellington police hand out kites

The Easter season was brightened for many children in West Berbice when officers from the Fort Wellington Police Station presented them with kites on Saturday.

The exercise was made possible by Commander of ‘B’ Division, Assistant Commissioner Brian Joseph who provided the kites for the children.

The officers, including Assistant Super-intendent, Joshua Harvey-John, Sergeant Cynthia Kelly and Corporal Tracy Benjamin-Long conducted the distribution at Hopetown, No 22 Bel Air – the commander’s home village – and at Bush Lot.

The smaller children received plastic kites while the older ones were presented with ‘board’ kites. They were very excited with their “gifts” and thanked the officers for the gesture.
