Cops probing fatal accident at No.50 village

The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 0115h today on the No. 50 Village Public Road, Corentyne, and which resulted in the death of Rawle Douglas, 37 years, of No. 53 Village.

Police say investigations have revealed that Rawle Douglas was an occupant in a motor vehicle that was allegedly being driven at a fast rate and which collided with a cow on the roadway. Douglas suffered injuries and was pronounced DOA at the Skeldon Hospital.

The driver was found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol and is in police custody assisting with the investigations, police say.
