Mon Repos store robbed of $2M

Two men posing as customers carried out a daring mid-morning armed robbery at the Lucky Dollar Store, Mon Repos, escaping with $2M in cash after sticking up the cashier.

The armed robbery occurred around 10 am.

Based on what this newspaper was told the men walked into the store and inquired about furniture. They later proceeded upstairs where one of the men pointed a gun at the cashier before relieving her of the cash and making good their escape.

Crime Chief Leslie James told Stabroek News that no one has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery. He said that no shots were fired as the men escaped. There were no injuries.
