Friendship mother found dead with head in bucket of water

A Friendship mother of three was found with her head submerged in a bucket of water early this morning and her partner is in custody in relation to the suspected murder.

Shelly Persaud, 25, of 34 Friendship Public Road, East Bank Demerara was reportedly discovered by her partner on the back step of their home around 2:30 AM. According to reports, the man had come home drunk, prompting Persaud to sleep separately from him.

The man was later taken into police custody after the discovery of Persaud’s body.

Family members of the dead woman are certain that she was murdered and maintain that she had never indicated any suicidal inclinations. Police are currently investigating.
