Woman with head in bucket died of neck injury – post-mortem

A Post Mortem Examination (PME) was today performed on the body of Shelly Persaud of Friendship, EBD, by Pathologist Dr. Nehaul Singh who gave the cause of death as drowning due to a compression injury to the neck, the police said.

The body of Persaud was found at her home with her head submerged in a container of water yesterday June 10, 2014.

Police say that investigations are continuing.

The PME findings point in the direction of murder as opposed to some reports that she might have taken her own life.
