Handyman stole $80,000 from parked car, court told

Appearing before city magistrate Geeta Chandan-Edmond on Friday, handyman Etiah Byron denied stealing $80, 000 from a parked car.

The 30-year-old, who provided his address as Lot 132 Orealla Avenue, South Ruimveldt Gardens, was released on $35, 000 bail. According to the police, on June 25, Byron stole the cash belonging to Paul Giddings, from a car, PKK 3458, while the vehicle was parked along the Ruimveldt Public Road. Prosecutor Jomo Nicholls did not object to bail being granted.

Byron was ordered to return to court on July 4 for the commencement of his trial.
