Police probing fatal accident on Vlissengen Rd

The police say they are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 1910h. last night on Vlissengen Road, Georgetown, and which resulted in the death of a so far unidentified pedestrian.

Investigations have revealed that the pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway and was struck down by a motor car.

He was taken to the GPHC and succumbed during this morning, police say.

The victim is a destitute who is of East Indian descent, appears to be in his mid-thirties, about 5’7” in height, brown complexion and medium build.

The driver is in police custody assisting with the investigations.

The body is at the GPHC Mortuary.
