Plantain Walk woman remanded over stabbing death of husband

Nicola Joseph who allegedly stabbed her reputed husband to death on July 21, at their Plantain Walk, West Coast Demerara home, was charged with murder and remanded to prison last Wednesday.

Joseph was arraigned at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court on July 23, before Magistrate Faith McGusty.

It is alleged that Curtis Mc Kinnon, 38, of the same address, was stabbed during a row with Joseph.

According to neighbours who heard the couple arguing, they were alerted to the stabbing by Joseph’s 18-year-old son, who ran out of the house and summoned them.

Mc Kinnon was found bleeding on a mattress and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Joseph was remanded to prison and the matter was subsequently transferred to the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court, where it will be called again on September 5.
