Linden boy, 8, drowns during family outing

A Linden boy drowned while on an Emancipation Day outing at Katapuli Creek, in the mining town yesterday.

Dead is eight-year-old Kassel Harlequin, who was found motionless by relatives, minutes after they noticed he was missing during their family outing at the popular creek in Linden.

According to a cousin of Harlequin, the young boy was rushed to the Wismar Hospital but was pronounced death on arrival by doctors.

What might have led to the lad’s drowning was unclear and attempts to contact his inconsolable parents were unsuccessful.
