Suspect held over killing of bus driver

The Guyana Police Force is still investigating the circumstances which resulted in the stabbing death of 31 yr old Gavin Fiffee on Thursday night and a suspect is in custody.

Fiffee’s mother, Audrey Payne, told Stabroek News yesterday that she was contacted by investigators with information that a man from Ann’s Grove had been arrested and taken into custody.

Payne said that her family was trying the best that they could, however her grandchildren were still very confused over losing their father.

She said that his youngest would cry out for him at night and that she was still in disbelief that her only son had been stabbed to death.

On Thursday night, Fiffee got into an altercation with a man at the Stabroek Market because the man was urinating on his bus. Stabroek News understands that Fiffee confronted the man and in retaliation the man stabbed him multiple times in his chest.

Fiffee was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital by a friend, but he bled to death.
