Black Bush Polder man shot in robbery

A man was left nursing a gunshot wound to his right hand last evening after he was shot during a robbery on Adventure Access Road, Corentyne.

The injured man, according to a police release, is Jerry Babulall of Johanna South, Black Bush Polder Corentyne. He was reportedly in a motor vehicle with his mother and wife when two men, armed with firearms, confronted them.

Police say the three “were held at gunpoint and robbed of a quantity of jewelry, three cell phones and $165,000.000…” The armed men then escaped in a motor car. It is not clear at what point, Babulall ended up sustaining the wound to his hand.
