Woman found dead at Kitty shore identified

-had been battling mental illness

The body that washed up at the Kitty foreshore has been identified as a West Ruimveldt woman, who had been mentally ill.

The woman was identified as Sharon Forde, 45, who is said to have been dealing with mental illness ever since the death of her husband.

She was identified by her brother, who gave his name as Dan, a football coach. He said that the mother of five had been suffering from mental illness. He added that she often wandered aimlessly on the road.

The man also said the woman was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital on August 7th and was treated and released.

Forde was found late Wednesday afternoon after some joggers noticed her nude body on the shore with waves lashing against it. After police investigators were called, she was subsequently taken to the Lyken Funeral Home, where she was identified.

Police did not find any marks of violence on Forde’s body and foul play is not suspected.
