Farmer charged with Providence break and enter

Thirty-one-year-old farmer Devon London was on Friday placed on $150,000 bail after being arraigned at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court on a charge of break and enter and larceny.

London denied that between August 20 and 24 at Providence New Scheme, East Bank Demerara, he broke and entered Tulsiedai Persaud’s house and stole a quantity of sash windows, one toilet bowl, one washing sink set, 50 blocks and two wooden doors all totalling $372,000.

No further facts were presented in court.

The prosecution had no objections to the accused being admitted to bail for the sum of $150,000.

The matter was transferred to the Providence Magistrates’ Court for October 13.
