Blairmont Primary takes top honours at spelling competition

Blairmont Primary School copped the first and second places at a Regional spelling competition dubbed, Spelling for Life, held at the Lachmansingh Primary School on Tuesday while Hopetown Primary came third.

The event was hosted by the Region 5 Department of Education in observance of Education Month.

Blairmont Primary emerged winner with a total of 57 points. Sonie Karran copped the first spot with 30 points and Drupattie Naul earned 27 points. Jeremiah Spelling of Hopetown Primary gained came third with 26 points.

Judging the competition were: Deon Lyn Lewis, Education Officer 1 (Nursery); Annesta Douglas, Education Officer 11 and Zanah George, Headmistress of Bush Lot Secondary School.
