Wanted bulletin being prepped for husband accused of wife’s slaying

A wanted bulletin will be issued for murder suspect Vidol Rawlins, who the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has advised policer to charge with the July 18th fatal stabbing of his wife.

Rawlins went into hiding immediately after allegedly stabbing his 30-year-old wife, Candy Rawlins, at their Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara home. One month later, the DPP had advised that he be charged with murder, but no arrest wanted bulletin was issued for his arrest by the police.

Stabroek News enquired from Police Crime Chief Leslie James why a wanted bulletin was not issued for the suspect and was told that the bulletin was in process of being done.

Candy Rawlins was discovered dead by neighbours after her 11-year-old daughter, who was tied to a chair with her mouth taped, managed to escape and raised an alarm. A post-mortem examination later found that she died as a result of stab wounds to the neck.
