Stanley said that Lindie and four other persons were working in the pit at the time. The man said that his brother who has been working in the mines for the last 15 to 20 years contacted him by telephone about three hours before the accident occurred and they had their usual conversation. He said that during Lindie’s time working in the interior he had never expressed any fear about the conditions under which he worked.
