32 plays to be staged at National Drama Festival

This year’s National Drama Festival will open on October 14 at the National Cultural Centre.

Thirty-two plays in several categories will be staged this year, Festival Director Collette Jones-Chin in a press release.

The categories are: ‘Open Full Length,’ ‘Open Short or One Act,’ ‘Junior,’ ‘Debutante’ and ‘Secondary School.’ The programme for the evening of October 14 features the Opening Ceremony from 6pm to 6.40pm; the staging of the play “Double Take,” from the Junior Category, from 6.40pm to 7.30pm; an intermission from 7.30 to 7.45pm; and the staging of the full length play “Shattered Dreams” from 7.45pm to 9.45pm.

The Festival will run until October 22. The Awards Ceremony will be held on October 31.
