Contract cleared for solar panels accessories

20141009tableAbout 6,000 hinterland families are expected to soon use their solar panels as government yesterday announced that the contract to supply cables and switches for the devices was given its no objection.

Head of the Presidential Secretariat, Dr Roger Luncheon yesterday made the announcement at his post- Cabinet press briefing.

Luncheon informed that some 6,000 more panels will soon be distributed taking the total to about 20,000 distributed to date. He said that the 65 watts of power generated from the panels will bring to hinterland households some “degree of electrification.”

In addition to the Hinterland Electrification Project, the Cabinet Secretary also named eight other projects that cabinet gave its no objection to.

The projects, award amounts and the names of respective procuring entities are shown in the table below.
