The police say they are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of miner Amsey Evans, 22 years, of Iquaime, Pomeroon River, which occurred at about 0900h. yesterday at Toroparo Backdam, Cuyuni River.
Initial investigations indicate that Evans was prospecting in the Backdam when he was shot to his body after tripping a “Gun Trap”.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bartica Hospital, police say.
