The police say they are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 1830h. yesterday at Eccles Public Road, EBD, during which Sancarlos Sukhu, 30 years, of Kara Kara, Linden, was shot and injured to his right ankle and shoulder.
Investigations, police say, have revealed that Sukhu was in a motor vehicle driven by Hai San Wong, 65 years, of Kara Kara, and which had stopped at the traffic lights. During this time a man armed with a firearm came up to the vehicle and held them up and demanded cash, police say. Some money was handed over to the perpetrator who demanded more and fired rounds in the process, hitting Sukhu, after which he escaped.
Sukhu has been admitted to hospital.
