Bail denied to attempted murder accused

Kevon George, who allegedly assaulted another with intent to murder him, was yesterday remanded to prison. George was not required to plead to the charge after it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Courts.

It is alleged that on October 23, at George-town, George unlawfully and maliciously assaulted Orin Winfield with intent to murder him.

George was remanded based on the fact the Winfield is still a patient at the hospital, where he is in a critical condition. He is to return to court on November 3.
