Man charged over throwing boiling rice on neighbour

A man accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm to a woman was yesterday admitted to $25,000 bail when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

The allegation against Tracey Bobb is that on October 21, at New Market Street, Georgetown, he inflicted grievous bodily harm on Tenisha Brazilo.

According to Prosecutor Michael Grant, Bobb and Brazilo live in the same yard but in different apartments. On the day of question, they had a misunderstanding during which Bobb threw a pot of boiling rice on Brazilo.

Attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat, who represented Bobb, asked for bail to be granted in a reasonable sum and there was no objection from the prosecution.

Bail was set at $50,000. However, Fung-a-Fat told the court his client was unable to afford that sum and it was subsequently reduced to $25,000.

The matter was transferred to Court 6 for November 24.
