Police say Glenn Lall hasn’t followed up complaint against AG

With reference to a report made to the police on Monday by Glenn Lall of alleged threats to him and Kaieteur News by the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, the Guyana Police Force says that Lall has submitted three prepared statements as well as an audio recording and a transcript of that recording in relation to the report made.

The police say that their investigators in this matter have identified a number of issues in the prepared statements that require clarification. They said they have made several attempts to contact Lall in order to have this done, but their efforts have been futile.

Yesterday, police said the Police Divisional Commander of “A” Division wrote to Lall, which correspondence was received at his office, advising that he subject himself to a police interview in order to address the required clarification. However, unto the time of this press release Lall has not presented himself for the interview, nor has he made contact with the Divisional Commander regarding the letter.

The police also made telephone contact with Leonard Gildarie, the Kaieteur News reporter who received the call in question from the AG in order to interview him concerning the matter. However, he has so far shown reluctance in meeting with the police, the police said.

The Guyana Police Force said it wished to inform the public that without the clarification regarding the statements made by Lall, it would be severely limited in pursuit of this probe.
