Bettencourt’s Diner robbed

Two gunmen escaped after stealing over $50,000 from Bettencourt’s Diner on D’urban Street last night.

Stabroek News understands that two men lunged through the metal grill at the front of the eatery and held up the cashier while another man waited outside in a black Toyota Premio.

The brazen attack left employees shaken up, however no one was injured. The robbery occurred at just before 20:00hrs. It is believed that the thieves may be known to the area. Police are currently investigating the incident.
