Police say that investigations are being conducted into an armed robbery committed on taxi-driver Imran Khan of De Hoop, Mahaica, which occurred at about 1130h. today at Enmore, ECD, and during which he was shot and injured.
Investigations have revealed that Khan was hired by a man who had travelled to a city bank to transact business and who had stopped at a business place at Enmore, leaving a bag in the vehicle.
While Khan was waiting in the vehicle, police say that two men rode up on a motor cycle and one of them shot him to his left shoulder and took away the bag with $1.5M and they escaped.
Khan has been admitted to hospital for medical treatment.
