Miner on bail after denying gun, ammo charges

A miner was yesterday placed on a total of $200,000 bail after denying the unlawful possession of a Glock pistol and a quantity of ammunition.
It is alleged that on November 4, at Georgetown, Michael Pollydore, 30, of 605 Tucville, Georgetown, had the weapon in his possession without being the holder of a firearm licence.
It is also alleged that on the same day, Pollydore had in his possession 48 rounds of ammunition, without being the holder of a firearm licence.

Pollydore pleaded not guilty to both charges when they were read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Prosecutor Joel Ricknauth had no objections to bail, which Magistrate Judy Latchman later set at a total $200, 000. The case was adjourned until January 13, when the trial is expected to begin.
