Publisher of Kaieteur News Glenn Lall will today be arraigned at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court to answer a charge of using threatening language to Commissioner of the Guyana Revenue Authority, Khurshid Sattaur some three months ago. The charges state that on August 29th last at Goedverwagting, East Coast of Demerara, and by way of telephone Lall used threatening language to Sattaur.
Lall says that while he is in shock he believes that the charge was a “trumped up” one, aimed at muzzling reports in his daily papers. “It was more than a surprise I was shocked. I was at a loss. This is another trumped up charge and I am not surprised if I go to the office and I see several other trumped up charges,” he told Stabroek News yesterday.
